I returned to Washington, Illinois, and snapped a couple of quick photographs of the bank building on the square in downtown, which I realized I had not documented in a decade since these pictures.
I also explored some of the side streets, where there are some fantastic examples of Queen Anne Style architecture, as well as some earlier Italianate villa-style houses.
While I photographed some of the stately, rehabbed houses along the main road leading out of town ten years ago, there are many other ones I had missed.
There is also a rare Gothic Revival house, as well, made out of brick like the one I have found in the JeffVanderLou neighborhood of St. Louis and in Belleville.
On the south side of town, there has been little sprawl, which I am happy to see, unlike to the northwest in the direction of Peoria.
