
The next day early in the morning I headed out into the eastern fields of my family’s farm to see how the soybeans were doing, and looked out to the west down into the valley.
While it might not look like it in the photos, it was actually very wet in the area after four inches of rain, and my boots were soaked from walking through the rows of soybeans for an hour.
The ash trees in the pasture are dying, as all of their species are in America.
The cottonwood tree is still alive; you can see the last time I photographed it back in August of 2018 when the trunk had not weathered as much as it had now.
